We are Grateful

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we decided to create a list of what we are thankful for. Sometimes it helps to see it in writing.

  1. Family and Friends
  2. Church
  3. USA and those who fight for our liberties
  4. A good job
  5. Food on the table (except when we are lazy and don't go to the store)
  6. Good Health-and we wanted to add modern day technologies in healthcare like helmets and physical therapy, c-sections w/good medicine, surgeries to cure ailments, etc.
  7. Football (and the ESPN College Gameday Package)
  8. Cars that are paid for
  9. Clothes on our backs, shoes on our feet
  10. Electronics: cell phones, ipods, computers, tv, internet
  11. Great haircuts (thanks Wendy)
  12. A place to call Home (even if it is in UT for now)

Micro Lab Lunch at Mimi's Cafe

We decided that we wanted to take a little break on Halloween to have lunch as a group with our little families. We are a pretty close lab and we work together really well. I am very happy that in my situation (being that I don't really want to work at this time-I'd rather be with Zack), that I have these great people that I work with daily. Maria always reminds us "don't worry, be happy", Bonnie always listens to me vent about everything, and Charles always has funny tales to tell. Jackie isn't in the lab frequently (she's the boss), but she is the best boss that we could have-I'm not trying to brown nose I swear (I'm not that way!). Working at Nature's Way has been a privilege.

Halloween 2007!!!

We had a really enjoyable Halloween this year. Captain "Zack" Sparrow was on the loose and was loving it, even though I don't think he still quite understood what was going on. He did know he was getting candy, so it made him happy. The weather wasn't too cold, and since Zack can walk door to door that made things easier. We only took him to 5 houses and he was polite at each door by saying "thank you". He couldn't say "trick-or-treat" but when asked what a pirate says he would answer "AARRRGGG"!!! But as you will see in the video, he was asked too many times what a pirate says and just quit saying it. Pretty typical when the camera is rolling, you know?! Hope everyone enjoys what they are seeing here these days. Please post a comment, it makes me feel better that I am doing this if I know people are liking it. Bye!

Hayrides, Pumpkins, Sundance, and Snow!!!

We went to this really cute farm in Santaquin, UT (10-19-07) while my parents were out visiting us (well really they had only come to see Zack!). They take you out on a hayride to the pumpkin patch where you pick your own pumpkin. Zack was really cute when he picked out his pumpkin. He wanted to hold it but it was too heavy for him, so he just hugged it. There was a horse out there that my dad introduced to Zack. He was ok petting it, but if we had tried to put him on it that would have been a different story. (We tried this past July to let him ride one and he hated it.) Back at the barn they have a little shop where you can have cider and doughnuts. Matt loved the cider and doughnuts part b/c it reminded him of Michigan in the fall. It was great weather that day, but then a storm came in and by Sunday there was snow on the ground. On Sunday (10-21-07) we went to Sundance Brunch. We hadn' t been since I was pregnant with Zack. It is the best brunch on earth, and I highly recommend it if you ever get the chance to go. Zack liked the food but found the most pleasure walking around in the snow outside while everyone else finished eating. We all had to take turns b/c he was getting a little out of control (I think it has something to do with the "red-headed temper" that he gets sometimes.) I hope people start checking out the blog now that I have finally updated it! I feel like I'm in blog overload these days. This might not last long...I'll keep trying.

Future Soccer Star!!!

Zack is a great little soccer player. He just picked up the ball one day at around 18 months and hasn't stopped playing since. Matt loves that Zack plays soccer and that he is so athletic at such a young age. Zack also knows how to kick a football off of a tee. Maybe we have a star on our hands! Hopefully I post this correctly since it is my first video post. We sound really funny b/c we didn't know what we were doing when we filmed it. (Videos taken on 10/19/07 in our condo commons area)

Happy Anniversary, Matt!!!

Just wanted to post a few good memories from 4 years ago today!!! I can't believe how time flies. And to think, I have the rest of eternity to go...love you Matt!!!

PS-I have a lot of catching up on this to do so keep checking back. I know I have been a slacker lately (thanks Ashley for reminding me!) but after all, football started and it's been a pretty good season!

We Love College Football!!!

We were excited to have college football back, so in celebration we wore our jerseys to represent our teams. For those who don't know, our teams are: USC (South Carolina-not that crappy trojan team-sorry Lori!), Michigan State, and BYU!!! We have the College Game Day Package that we order in July so that we'll have all of the games on opening day! We're addicted but it's what we enjoy! Have a good day and good luck to your teams!

What's Up?

This is for my mother so that she can look and see what Zack, her #1 and only grandbaby, is doing at all times. Don't say I never did anything for you! :)
